Happy Sunday readers,
This is where I would typically apologize for not being on my blog grind...but I'm not gonna lie to you and do that.
I've been loving this period between business school admission and school starting.
Now believe me when I tell you, moving to New York has reignited my passion for blogging, and sharing my journey with you. So with this renewed vigor, I've set a blogging schedule for myself (can't wait to see how this goes once core classes starts), found a new home, and I've started brainstorming topics. I can't wait to tell you about CBS world tour, feeling like Elle Woods (Legally Brunette, Businessly Blonde ?!?), juggling everything, what I hope to pursue, internships, what to wear to class, and the list goes on. Also, this blog has moved to a new home.
In the mean time, be on the lookout Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for new posts, stories, experiences, and random nonsense that passes through my head. Head over to www.missusatomba.com
I appreciate you all for taking this journey with me. I can't wait to see where this blog goes, I go, and we all go on this journey together.
XOXO,
MacKenzie

To Legit To Quit
As of last week, this blog/venting session became legitimate.
After 3 years of hard work, long nights, tons of travel, money spent, classes, essays, coaching sessions, tears, panic attacks, hysterical moments, and so much more...I officially became Miss USA to MBA. I'm officially joining Columbia Business School's class of 2017.
Now let me be honest, yes, I applied to 9 schools. But seriously, I really only wanted to go to two schools, Columbia and Harvard. I could give you the whole song and dance on why those were my top two, but honestly, who even cares...deciding where you want to go for business school is like falling in love, it's wildly personal and hard to explain.
I think as long as I live I will always remember where I was and what I was doing when I got the call that I got in to Columbia. I cried for a solid 45 seconds on the phone with the adcomm person that called.
I'm ecstatic, over the moon, and slightly terrified.
What's even cooler, is I made my decision to attend Columbia 5 years from my crowning as Miss DC USA. (I'll share that outfit later this week)
If you think it's time for me to kick back and relax, you are sooooo wrong. Now the real work begins. I'm taking a business statistics class this winter, studying for the CFA Level 1 (can't decide between June or December), reading every possible book by every professor at CBS, and pinning countless outfits.
Don't get it twisted, I understand that the brand is an inside/out process. I'm even planning my Columbia Connect outfit as we speak.

...and I can't wait to start the Manhattan apartment hunt...said no one ever.
But thank you all for following along thus far, and I can't wait to share this journey over the next two years and beyond. And I can't wait to really delve further in the lifestyle side of this blog, now that my brain isn't MBA application obsessed.
XOXO,
MacKenzie
